Hey punks!!! It's a new month: Good Morning June, Goodnight Homophobia!!!!! Kick ass, pull your friends up with you, never forget who you're fighting for!
Check in on last month's goal - drop me a note on what media you pirated?
Your goal for June: celebrate pride, and learn about the development of pride from the 60s to now. Celebrate in any way you can but take time this month to be proud of yourself, your community, and your history
I made a new backpatch for my wheelchair. The first picture is the new one and the second is the old.
I made this new one with velcro which attaches much cleaner to the chair. That way, you can actually see all the patches.
I find these backpatches are much better than a traditional battle jacket for me. As Battle jackets get really heavy, which makes it harder to push myself. This way I can still participate.
We are Doll Chaser! We're an all trans punk band from Minnesota and we are so excited to share what we've been cooking!
Our first release of singles, titled together as Living The Dream, releases on Friday January 5th! Pre-save on Spotify now, and keep your eyes open on every other major streaming platform
Hi, would you say there are any requirements for being punk? Like I've grown up middle class but yk I'm trans, leftist/socialist, really starting to get into the music and style ,however Idk if I can call myself punk because of my upbringing, like I do as much as I can to find out how my upbringing has effected and benefited me but I'd feel like a poser if I called myself punk.
theres no requirements of your upbringing provided that you don't use that to take up spaces in conversations that aren't yours, or use that privilege to say, purchase a load of expensive jackets, shoes, or premade "punk" clothes. DIY your own shit, learn the history, learn the politics, and use any advantage you have to help your fellows rather than pulling ahead yourself, and youll be good. being punk isn't about playing oppression olympics, its about community and dismantling unfair systems and hierarchies - even if / especially if you benefit from them yourself.
Should've covered my shorts in blank patches first but I'm still a baby punk and learning new things :'D
Patches: boys will be girls girls will be boys (lyrics from "Boys will be Girls" by We Are The Union), Limp Wrist, books not bombs, folk punk forever, Punk statt Putin (punk instead putin)
The last patch is also the title of a book I'm reading :P
