DID is simultaneously the most subtle, ambiguous disorder while also being the most intense, all-encompassing, extremely-personal-because-it-affects-fundamental-perceptions-like-memory-and-identity-at-all-hours-of-the-day disorder of all time.

edit: this is primarily addressing minor systems!! any system can be put in danger by doing this, but minors are especially at risk.

this point has probably been made 700 times already but can we please stop normalizing putting every crumb of alter information into your intros/descriptions. i'm really tired of seeing people list their trauma holders & let their littles roam free online & minors listing their sexual protectors publicly, PLEASE stop putting targets on you. yeah your intro or pk description might look pretty but someone is going to take advantage of that information eventually and/or publicly blast you.

^ this also applies to triggers btw, even positive ones. you may think you're preventing something, but if you tell the internet not to do something then they're just gonna do it more, especially if your triggers are more obscure/"weird".

i say this as someone who used to do all of this too, i thought it was proving a point and showing the fakeclaimers that i really AM traumatized!! yeah no it doesn't work like that. don't try to prove yourself to people who will never listen to you, protect yourself please.

How it feels when your system is trying to make any important decision

not every system has a gatekeeper.

not every system has a set host.

not every osdd system has less than 50 alters.

not every polyfrag system has more than 1000 alters.

not every system has an innerworld.

not every system can access their innerworld.

not every system hates their system.

not every system knows everything about themselves.

not every system knows nothing about themselves.

not every system sees themselves in the same way.

everyone’s system is different. everyone deals with their systemhood differently and has different views on systemhood.

a common misconception i see in the community is that polyfragmentation refers to having a high alter count, and id like to talk about what it actually means polyfragmentation is characterized by a complex system structure, complex splitting patterns, a large number of fragments, a lack of non-dissociative coping mechanisms, and often trauma that began at an early age and impacted all areas of life COMPLEX SYSTEM STRUCTURE - often involving layers, subsystems, or other divisions within the system that keep alters separate in groups COMPLEX SPLITTING PATTERNS - this involves splitting in groups, splitting multiple alters to hold different parts of the same trauma, etc LARGE FRAGMENT COUNT - polyfragmented systems will have a high fragment count, fragments are alters who lack a full sense of identity LACK OF NON-DISSOCIATIVE COPING MECHANISMS - where splitting would typically be a last resort for most systems, polyfragmented systems can be pushed to the point of splitting much easier, even from daily life stressors EARLY LIFE TRAUMA - according to richard p kluft, polyfragmented DID is often caused by longstanding severe abuse beginning early in life - grey

I've been seeing a bit of "the future is plural" and other shit like that so let me say;

no. if the future is plural then we did something wrong. you can only be a system as a cause of childhood trauma. no child should be traumatized to the point of being a system.

I know the endos will see this and I don't care. interact with it so I can laugh at your idiotic takes. i don't want anyone to be a system. i wouldnt wish it upon my worst enemy and abusers. nobody deserves the pain and distress it takes to be a system and the pain of simply being a system.

so no. the future isn't plural. and I fucking hate the term "plural" but that's a rant for a different day. nobody should be a system. there is a lot of system joy, but being traumatized to the point of being a system isn't worth that joy. i can experience joy as a singlet too.
