May 30 - Journey

I can't believe we're nearly at the end! I think these two are going to be all right now, though. Time for some nighttime reflections.

It was dark, yet he could see well enough to make out Sherlock's contented smile as he slept. John marvelled at the journey they had survived. From eavesdropping and misunderstandings, arguments and letters, heart attacks and realisations, to finally, kisses and shared beds. All in the space of one month. 

The day started well, then went rapidly downhill as dreams were smashed. Then came the news that the buyer for 221b was pulling out as well. John feared for Sherlock at that particular moment. He'd just returned from yelling at Mycroft when the call came. He doubted whether Sherlock could have dealt with that blow as well without someone there to tether him, hold him, to whisper that everything would be okay.

After the panic stopped, planning started. John was glad he'd dropped Rose off at Molly's as he described what was going to happen to an increasingly hopeful Sherlock. Conversions and renovations. Alterations and improvements. Before long, several hours had passed and both men were tired but optimistic. As evening drew in, Sherlock stopped smiling, anticipating a long night alone. 

"Come to bed with me, Sherlock." John held out a hand, another step toward a permanent change that should have happened long ago. 

John smiled as he ran his fingers through greying curls. They were both already feeling much better. 

I like to think he got his Captain Watson voice on and just told Sherlock what was going to happen. And we know that everybody loves a soldier. 😉 One more part to go. I'm gonna miss this pair.

Warm-light-batch from Eric episode 1

After I was done in the museum I decided to make another trip to the Reichenbach Fall via funicular. Due to the pouring rain I had it and the fall to myself. Got very wet a second time. Had to use a freezer bag to protect my camera and it still got wetter than I was comfortable with. Should have used the underwater housing. *eyeroll* It was absolutely violent, you couldn't even see the 'cauldron' because there was sooo much water and mist. Definitely not a sight many tourists get to see.
