WIEIAD : 1
What I eat in a day to stay thick and fit
Vegan $30 budget what I eat in a week
Things to ask yourself:
✨ "Do I have a fruit/vegetable, source of protein, and a carb on my plate?"
✨ "What can I add to this for it to be more filling and contain more nutrients?"
✨ "How many colors are on my plate?"
Reminders:
💞 you can always add a canned vegetable to the side for cheap if you're missing veggies in your meal.
💞 I eat things like pickled sausage, tater tots and pizza. I just use reasonable portions & add things to them. (Like spinach on pizza) I also make things from scratch a lot, which helps a TON.
💞 I didn't watch through all the what I eat in a days. But some of them looked decent. You don't have to drink chlorophyll water or ACV.
💞 Instead of asking what you can remove, ask what you can add. Have some fries, but add a source of protein like grilled chicken with some mozzarella, then some fibers with spinach and a side salad.
Toodles!

The local farmers just started selling the first kohlrabi of the year, and I am always surprised seeing people throwing away the leaves of this underrated vegetable. So I would like to share a recipe from my grandma - a wonderful cook, and also a very frugal person.
For this budget-friendly kohlrabi soup, you focus on the leaves. My grandma often got them for free at the farmers market, even some supermarkets have "waste bins" for unwanted vegetable parts and will give you some because, as I said, most people use the bulbous stem only.
This serves two (hungry!) people, and you can improvise a lot. You will need half of the kohlrabi stem. Put the rest aside for a snack, you can even eat it raw, cut in thin slices and salted, like healthy crisps, or in a salad. Make the most of it! You will also need all of the leaves, an onion, and three small or medium sized potatoes. You could also use instant mashed potatoes instead, or add other vegetables of your choice. Go with whatever you have. Peel the kohlrabi stem, onion, and potatoes, remove the hardest parts of the leaves as depicted, and chop the vegs. (Frugal option: Put the peels in the freezer and use them later to make your own broth.)
Now add a tablespoon of vegetable oil (I used olive oil, but this is a "use what you have at hand" recipe.), and one teaspoon of sugar, and roast it gently until the onions start to brown. Add water until the vegs are just covered. Give this mixture some salt and pepper. Season to your taste. I highly recommend a pinch or two of ground nutmeg, rosemary and parsley for the fancy version of this. Bring it to a boil, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Use a blender to make this smooth and creamy.
For a fancy version, serve it topped with some almonds, nuts, or fresh herbs.
The taste of kohlrabi leaves reminds of a mixture of broccoli and turnip. You can just wash and chop them and put them in the freezer, ready to be made into soup later. Don't throw them away - and if others do, get them for free! 🙂

How I successfully cured my irregular cycles by drinking tea.
I wanted to share my story of curing my irregular periods in the hopes that it might help someone else. I just want to say right off the bat, I am not a doctor, nor do I have any qualifications to be giving advise. Just wanted to share what worked for me. (Also, I am on no medication and I am a healthy 28-year-old)
A bit of background: as a teenager, my periods were 90-100 days apart. I loved it. I only got 3-4 periods a year and in my mind that was a win. As I got older, I realized this could pose a problem if I wanted to get pregnant one day. I also knew that it was a sign something was wrong with my body and it needed to be fixed.
Through diet and exercise, I was able to bring it down slightly, but not a lot. I was still averaging in the 70s.
Fast-forward to last year. A friend let me try her homeade tea and I fell in love. I became obsessed with it. I started making it myself at home and soon I was having 1-2 cups per day. Within 3 months, my cycles were down to the 30s-40s, and as of right now I have a regular 28 day cycle, which I never thought possible.
Maybe it's anecdotal. Maybe there are other factors. Maybe I'm simply more hydrated, or maybe it's the vitamins I'm consuming daily. I don't know. But I have not significantly changed my lifestyle at all accept for the tea. I have done research on the individual ingredients, but I have found little research to suggest that drinking this tea has a major effect on regulating menstrual cycles.
Ingredients:
Fresh ginger root - ginger is anti-inflammatory. Many women suffer from irregular periods due to inflammation. Ginger is sometimes used to kickstart the menstrual cycle. It's also used to help relieve pms symptoms.
Lemon: contains lots of vitamin c, antioxidants, helps lower blood pressure.
Pear: high in folate, vitamin c, antioxidants. Contains lots of fiber which promotes good gut health.
Honey: super food. Anti-inflammatory.
Recipe: I make a big pot and it lasts me a whole week usually. 1-2 cups per day.
Bring a large pot (Dutch oven) of water to a boil. Add 1 large lemon cut in half, 1/3 cup of chopped fresh ginger, 2 diced pears. Let boil for 2 minutes. Place cover on pot and leave to simmer for at least 1 hour. Strain.
I keep it in a bottle in my fridge and reheat it when I'm ready for a glass. I usually add a little honey when I'm reheating it.
I just want to reiterate: I drink this tea because I enjoy it. It's delicious and calming. I really do believe it helped regulate my cycles, but I have no actual proof. However, if you struggle with long or irregular cycles like I do, this might be worth a try.

Fitblrs Wanted
After like 15 years of running and lots of time spent nursing injuries, I was extremely burnt out and did nothing for a few years.
Looking to get back into it as a routine, and I’d love to find some active accounts to follow and re-form that encouraging community I once had here!! I still have like 18k followers that stuck around from 2012 but pretty sure no one is active or at least interacting with me.
Come say hi please 🙋🏻‍♀️
