I'm pretty triggered by this...

If someone's pet dies, a beloved part of the community, people care. We care for that over some meme no one knows about and will soon forget about. Not to be double standards or anything but op of cat of the year poll would get fucking crucified of they had the same thing about the nefarious anglerfish.

Hi, the person running the cat poll got harrassed off the site. That is inexcusable behaviour no matter how insensitive they were. I say this as a long time mcyt fan who campaigned for jellie. I have a post up detailing the events if you want it.

ok I finished reading the post.

I did NOT realise people were telling them to lill themself and other violent threats. I hadn't looked much into it after my initial reblogs because i had assumed they were just calling op out for saying shitty things.

im very disappointed in all of us for that. We aren't better than them because we stood up for Scar and Jellie. We are JUST AS BAD as them for sending violent threats.

We need to do better.

What happened with the Cat of The Year poll deeply saddens me. Reall peoples lives been affected for simply voicing their opinions on silly cat poll, and that should not have happened.
