They have been having Sex for sometime before Stephen asks Tony out

Instead of saying yes or no Tony proceeds to give him a list of reasons why he is a horrible dating choice

Maybe pre-Iron Man 1

Stephen lounged backwards on the couch, bringing his feet up and burying his toes beneath Tony’s thigh where he was settled on the far seat of the couch. For a long moment Stephen just watched Tony, who was busy skimming through the papers that Miss Potts had left for Tony to sign before she’d wrangled a promise from Stephen that he’d make Tony deal with them before Stephen ‘distracted Tony’ as Miss Potts had put it.

Tony finished with a flourish of his pen on the last page. He waggled his eyebrow at Stephen. “Sorry about that. Still in the mood?” he asked.

“Always,” Stephen said honestly. He stretched, appreciating the way Tony’s eyes drifted over him. “But I thought we could actually talk instead of jumping straight into sex, tonight.”

Tony raised an eyebrow. “You want to talk.”

Tony made it sound like they never did. Sure, they hadn’t at the beginning, but over the past few months the sex hadn’t died down, but the increased time together meant conversation had been inevitable. Incredibly enjoyable conversation, for that matter. “You should go out with me.”

Tony froze, eyes wide and shock clear on his face. “What?”

“Go out with me,” Stephen repeated. “For real. Not just… sex.”

The shock hadn’t abated. “Are you… Do you know what that would do to your reputation? It’d tank it, Stephen. Everyone knows sex with me is… whatever. You want… what commitment? They’d lambast you. You know who I am, I’m an irresponsible, narcissistic playboy without a conscience, who—”

“Are you quoting the tabloids?” Stephen asked. “If I wanted their opinion I’d pick up a magazine. I didn’t realize you read that trash.”

Tony pursed his lips. “You have your reputation to consider.”

“Considered,” Stephen said easily. “Dismissed. Now, go out with me.”

I just really love this little cameo. There’s no electricity due to Magneto’s EMP, but surgery can’t stop so Stephen’s performing surgery under CANDLELIGHT. That’s insane, ohmygod. Plus he can’t even perform surgery normally due to his hands so he’s doing it with magic but he still has to do it because he’s, first and foremost, a doctor.

Hello! You're one of my favorite authors, I love your work! For a prompt, how about a soulmate AU where you know you're soulmates because you both glow after your first kiss?

There was something terrifying about the first kiss.

Sexual intimacy was one thing, at least for Tony. He’d been around the block more than once. The number of people he’d kissed? That he could count on one hand.

He and Stephen stood inches apart. Anxiety twisted in Tony’s chest. “We don’t have to do this.”

“Do you want to?” Stephen asked.

Tony’s heart thundered in his chest. Did he? “I love you.” The words terrified him. Stephen’s eyes widened; Tony rushed on. “I love you, Stephen.”

“I love you, too,” Stephen said quietly. “If you need me to never… We don’t have to ever know.”

What would change if they knew? If they weren’t soulmates, did that mean they gave up on what they did have? Tony didn’t want that. But what if they were soulmates? Would that ruin things just as much with expectations that Tony was sure he couldn’t live up to?

“What do you want?” Tony asked.

Stephen’s brow furrowed in thought. “I want to love you in every way there is to love you,” he said slowly. “Soulmate or not.”

Somehow it was exactly what Tony needed to hear. “All right,” he said. “Then kiss me.”
