Kit sleeping surrounded by pillows is the cutest thing ever!
And he's still squeezing a pillow as he gets out of bed!
It's kind of sad though, because in Starline's base, Kit and Surge's room and bed were so barren. They didn't even have sheets!
Imagine if during his first night in the restoration, Kit holds a pillow and thinks "so soft..." and proceeds to stack up on pillows and build a little burrow out of them!
Real life fennecs sleep in burrows. This panel is probably a nod to that.
(I just remembered that Kit was also shown burying himself in a blanket in an earlier issue. To be fair, he had just been told that Surge was dead in that scene.)
Also, I find it interesting that in these few panels, it's hard to tell whether or not Kit has his hydropack on...
(You also can't tell if he or Surge are wearing shoes. Surge's feet look like they're white when she's jumping down, so I'm guessing she's wearing socks, but it's hard to tell.)
Oh! Speaking of Surge, she has her quills down in this scene! Someone pointed out that the last time Surge was seen with her quills down was when Starline started brainwashing her. Potential symbolism?
