I’m going to bed now so I won’t be making a bigger post for at least several hours but the first morning reports im seeing after the carpet-bombing of north Gaza last night are horrific. The bombing continues into this morning, particularly in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City. In addition to the carpet-bombing, sources are saying IOF troops committed torture and mass execution within at least one school sheltering displaced people. Obviously I will update with more information when it arrives.

Ho fatto un'esperimento

Ho preso i miei giorni liberi di 2 settimane e ne ho fatto 4 giorni cumulati. Sono andata a trovare degli amici in Normandia che ho conosciuto nel periodo in cui ho fatto l'animatrice nei villaggi e niente ho voluto deliberatamente staccare la spina dalla tecnologia per immergermi nella natura di quel posto, senza fare foto, video, chiamate,messaggi. Zero. Nulla. Solo io e la natura in compagnia di questi amici che mi hanno fatta sentire al centro del mondo, il loro mondo. Un'esperienza che mi ha arricchito, che porterò sempre con me quando sentirò il bisogno di scaricare la tensione accumulata dei giorni frenetici e sempre con gli occhi incollati ai PC, ai cell.

Non riesco a spiegare quanto curi l'anima questa sorta di " esperimento" , è rigenerante e ti fa apprezzare tutte quelle cose che ormai abbiamo perso. Il contatto visivo, le lunghe chiacchierate e le canzoni con una chitarra, i piedi nudi sull'erba ed il caffè fatto su un fuocherello qualsiasi in mezzo al nulla. Il cielo ragazzi, il cielo di notte, il silenzio intorno, niente clacson, niente schiamazzi, solo il rumore del mare ... della natura.... e quelle poche voci con cui stai condividendo tutto questo.

Adesso sono una fenice.

OR OR OR was she a past love who got away bc of the decisions he made getting in between them before rekindling once he grew and changed as a person? i have so many questions tee omg

omg i like to think they met after he’s released from prison you know. he goes in at like 17 and comes out at like 22 and now he’s going from job to job. he’s barely existing, just letting ppl yell at him at work and take advantage of his poor records and need for some income so at the end of every day, he just smokes outside this convenience store in misery. and then he sees you—every few times a week on ur way home from work, you stop by to buy a few things. at first u guys flirt and talk outside—it’s nice to have someone not realize who he is. you must not be from around here, and he finds out you’re not. you moved for work. you don’t know the rumors or gossip about him, and you don’t know his records or past, so you just talk to him like a regular person. it’s nice. it’s new. and then somehow u both end up in ur bed one night. your place is way bigger than his—he expects it, but it’s just in his face how different you both are despite being the same age. so it’s just supposed to be a hook up and that’s that—he’d never hope for more. but it happens a few more times and when things start getting a bit more intimate, he tells u and rips the band aid off so u can walk away sooner instead of later and save him the hope/inevitable crushing disappointment.

except u don’t rly care. u nod and hum as he tells you and then you cup his cheek and kiss his forehead and apologize. tell him you’re sorry his teenage years were tough like that and that he didn’t have anyone who could help him until he did some things he can undo. and you shuffle closer and hold him—usually it’s you who passes out on his chest, and he doesn’t ever rly stop you, but this time, you let him bury his head into your neck and play with his hair and it’s nice. it’s new. he likes it, likes you more than he should.

the rest is history.

somewhere along the lines you get knocked up by accident—you’re young and you have so much ahead of you and he almost expects you to panic and say this is over and that you’re getting rid of them—but you’re happy. giggly and teary as you kiss him and…well, he’s happy too, he realizes. he’s not really a father type, he doesn’t think, but he can’t help but be excited when it’s with you. and then when he hears they’re twins? when he holds them both for the first time? yeah, he’s changing. he’s gonna be good—for them, for you.

it is ridiculously heartwarming and sweet that we see Hunter and Omega, some 15-ish years later, having lived that time peacefully and safely on Pabu, and Omega is now an adult and has been an adult for probably close to a decade by now... and Hunter is still concerned for her safety and worrying about his little girl. ❤️❤️ no matter if it's 15 or 50 years, he will always be her worried caring dad😭

Journalist Wadea Abu Alsaoud sits crying in an emergency cemetery in north Gaza after burying a family member, whose blood is still on his hands. The Instagram account translating_falasteen provides a full English translation in the comments section. Wadea says

"They avenge our coverage by hurting our families. But we will continue and will not be silenced. If they think they can have their revenge that way, we will continue with the coverage until we are martyred."

Other sources specify that Wadea’s brother was murdered by the IOF during last night’s escalation, and the rest of his family remains under siege.
