This day, 25 years ago, episode 13 of Digimon Adventure premiered and Devimon was defeated.
And Takeru watched as his Digimon reverted to a Digiegg.
There were so many things that happened this episode that I could have depicted, from purifying Leomon, to Angemon striking down Devimon, to Takeru hugging his Digiegg, to Gennai revealing himself to the Chosen. I had to go with the iconic Devimon defeat but Takeru grieving over his loss almost made the cut instead.

Digimon Adventure 02: THE BEGINNING countdown! Day 5: Takeru and Patamon
02beginning x Digimon Survive
Next day for @digimon02countdown uwu
Did I just put Takeru in the Professor's pose because they wear hats?... ... Yes.
Also check out the ugliest Patamon you will ever see ;w; Don't let me draw Patamon ever again OTL also, kinda funny how Takeru with these clothes looks like Mameo from Next Order :3c
The next episode of Digimon Adventure 02, "THE BEGINNING" hits japanese cinemas this October 27th 2023.
The gate for a new adventure opens now!
Static version below ;3
Noticed the Mameo thing after I finished coloring this tho XD

This day 25 years ago, episode 12 of Digimon Adventure aired and Takeru discovered the Village of Beginnings/Primary Village. I honestly remember this episode being one of the first few episodes I caught on TV and while it was so goofy (Sumo-Tug-o-war Patamon and Elecmon), I was still curious what was going on in this show to come back week after week.
Infinity Mountain looms in the background where Devimon lies in wait...
Also, I snuck in a small easter egg for Frontier fans. :)
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this piece, as Primary Village has such an adorable aesthetic. Hopefully I'll get some timelapses of the pieces, since I've been using this project as coloring practice. Below the cut is the non-scanline piece. I've been doing the scanline effect for a bit of nostalgia since the show predates LCD/Plasma screens so it should feel like getting up to watch Saturday Morning cartoons.
