Hahahahahahhahah
Aaaaa
I used BBNP and you can see the extra attack is incoming
This was fun. Hard but so satisfying. The main team was Castoria Mash and Artoria. Then Merlin Shakespeare and Chen Gong in the back.
Both Merlin and Shakespeare with taunt CEs. A minute of silence for their noble sacrifices
Morgans buff removal in the last health bar is really bad but this fight wouldn’t even be hard without it so I would say it’s necessary

so a character in canyonclan (which was originally a roleplay i hosted back in my Ye Olde Wattpad Days) is named mallowpaw. his siblings (he has four, however i can only remember the names of two) are coyotepaw and cliffpaw, both totally valid names for cats living out in big bend national park (in the og roleplay the canyon they lived in wasn't based here, it was just a random canyon. also i was like twelve so i didn't research to see if my cats' names were ecologically correct like i do now)
anyway lol
went on a whole wild internet goose chase to figure out if mallowpaw's name would be allowed to remain
found out the actual mallow plant grows in swamps. was disappointed
started researching other flowers to see what i could change his name to. found some random mom blogger who took a million pictures (AND LABELLED THEM TOO, with their common and scientific names!!! mom bloggers are something else i stg) of all the plants she saw on her trip. one of them was labelled as 'indian mallow'. so i was like holyshit a mallow plant does grow there
looked up that variant specifically and found that no, it only grows in the sonoran desert (bbnp is the chihuahuan desert). was disappointed once more
looked up multiple mallow variants with no success. finally returned to just looking up other flowers. found an old article by the national park service of all the flowering plants found in big bend
SUCCESS!!!
everyone meet the curly bladder mallow <3

she's beautiful. and also means that MALLOWPAW GETS TO STAY! you go, funky little cat!

I LOVE Texas, I won’t ever be ashamed of that! The conservative values, the friendly people, the BIG OL’ HEART... sure the past hasn’t always been clean but we can be proud & also not participate or condone in the terrible actions of others, simultaneously. We enjoyed four nights at Rio Grande Village campground in Big Bend. We spotted a bobcat and lots of javalinas. We had plenty of space since there are about 40 sites closed off for social distancing. The Hot Springs and Boquillas crossing are also closed. It made a great base for exploring the southern half of the park. . . #riograndevillage #bigbendnationalpark #bbnp #campgrounds  #outdoorlife #fulltimerv  #homeiswhereyouparkit #nohookups #drycamping #wildlife (at Big Bend National Park-Rio Grande Village) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKZLZ-WB_4b/?igshid=1fro3xjp0girv

Scenes From Big Bend . I most always make room for a night at The Maverick Inn in Alpine when traveling through Big Bend area. It’s a great old motor court with wonderfully decorated room, many with little courtyard patios. We stayed here the night before my daughter’s flight out, which ended up being delayed like crazy because Chicago’s blustery weather affected her connection. . We took the long way ‘round coming out of BBRSP, back up through the National Park, where we stopped at the Fossil Discovery Exhibit. What a cool, amazing display of fossils discovered right on the site, from giant gator type creatures to even more giant flying reptiles. . We had both commented, previous to the finding the exhibit, how easy it is to imagine giant creatures roaming the area, so were both delighted at just how cool and comprehensive the exhibit is. . Far too many images and far too much info to really completely here. I want to go back and linger even longer, taking it all in. Perhaps at sunrise. . In amongst the images, too, is the beautiful corn like blossom on a yucca right in our camp at BBSRP. Of course, now I want to identify it correctly, so will likely be picking up a local plant guide. Already picked up a couple fantastic geology guides, aimed at Big Bend and Texas in general. . . #bigbend #alpine #maverickinn #bbrsp #bbnp #travelersnotebook #igerstexas #nomadlife #travelblog #southwest #southwestern #borderlands #westtexas #fatherdaughter #adventurepals #wanderlust #highdesert #chihuahuandesert #yucca #dinosaurs #fossil #flyingreptile #gator #overland #adventure #expedition #letsgetlost #roadtrip #desertlife #southwestcharm (at Big Bend) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtBvDQUh29p/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1i5k3fc29l0lk

BBNP peyote is now extirpated (i.e. made locally extinct) - Cactus Conservation Institute
“You may recall this beautiful specimen of Lophophora williamsii that had been planted in weathered volcanic tuff in what is now Big Bend National Park. This was part of a tiny population growing near an archaeological site showing evidence of long-term historical use.
A small peyote garden had been established by an unknown indigenous person long ago and despite the difficulties of growing in the highly alkaline mineral soil the plants were healthy but very slow growing. Similarly the same conditions made seedling recruitment difficult yet a small number managed to establish themselves. It was the only such site ever discovered in such a soil and has been known for well over half a century.
This and all of its companions in that old Native American garden site were recently discovered to have been taken by a poacher. The lack of evidence of cut stems suggests that they may have been removed by a cactus collector rather than harvested. The poacher took every single plant so this unique site is now extirpated. This was the last remaining example of the three known deliberate plantings of peyote by Native Americans prior to modern times so more than just the plants were lost."
