Here is a sneaky peek at a sculpture I made quite some time ago.
It is called "En Riktig Vinter" (A Real/Proper Winter). ❄️
If you happen to be in Umeå, Sweden, sometime between June 6th and Sept 22nd, you will be able to see this little sculpture at Västerbottens Museum 😊
It will be a part of "The Bothnia Salon"/Bothniasalong, it's a big group exhibition in five locations, in two regions 👏🌿
I started this sculpture a long while back, with a ceramics art challenge on Instagram, with the theme "Frozen". Nothing came of that challenge as they had to actually cancel the whole thing - but it still did inspire me to make this sculpture. 🙏
I see it as a sort of homage to the place I lived for eight years, in the same region the exhibition is held, and a sort of homage to winter. I think I started to actually like winters more, when I lived there.

A new glaze experiment! 🤩
These two ceramic trinket/jewelry dishes are in my shop now (www.nymla.se) 🌿
They are so shiny/shimmery with a bit of metallic, so it made them kind of difficult to capture in photos - best experienced in real life 😊

And here's the fourth one... 😅

I'm just really glad it didn't spill outside the little kiln-cookie/tray! Thanks for the thumb-holding, everyone 👍🤞

I want to make more of these. I don't have a ton of glazes to choose from, but which colors would you like to see them?

My slipcasting journey continues :} I'm quite happy with these, and it's so satisfying how well the lids fit 🤩 Still trying to find or make a nice pumpkin-orange glaze.
At the time of writing this, one pumpkin/gourd mug is available in the shop: www.nymla.se/shop 🎃

🌼 Shop Update! 🌼
The shop has been restocked :} One of the pieces is this paint palette & cup.
Handbuilt/sculpted/pinched stoneware ceramics. With a lil place on the rim of the paint cup where you can let your brush have a rest.
You know, I love making paint palettes and I feel ✨blessed✨ to have them be a small part of someones elses artistry or creative journey! How amazing to be a part of an ecosystem of creativity?! 🤩
You can check them all out at: www.nymla.se/shop
Thaaank you all for being here!

Are you team lichen or team mushroom or team slug? :]
The lichen and mushrooms are growing on the cabin stone wall. The lil cute slug I met on a walk in October last year.
These are some of the options to vote for in the poll over at P a t r e o n. If you want to vote and then get a print in your snailmail, it's on the "Seasonal print collector" tier - three spots open atm :)

🌿🌻 A Sign Of Spring 🌻🌿
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I recently finished this experimental sculpture and I want to share it with you as a little horraaay to spring!
I'm really into combining wool with clay - combining different materials, textures and surfaces that contrast and compliment eachother. And I am excited to continue to develop this "net" technique I have been exploring. I have more ideas that need to come to life :}
This sculpture to me, is a hopeful sign of spring. The little yellow pops of sunshine, or little yellow flowers, or however you want to see them, suddenly appearing from the snow and the coldness. A reminder that life persists and good things will come.
How do you interpret this sculpture, if you want to share I am very curious!
Tumblr media
Today is also valborg (short for valborgsmässoafton), here in Sweden it is basically a celebration of spring where we light bonfires. Please tell me how you celebrate spring where you live?

Thank you all for your support, and I wish you all will feel a healing spring sun shining on you 🌞 Nymla
[This sculpture is currently not for sale.]

Hold all your thumbs for me that these survive! I'm starting a bisque fire today 🙏🐸
A long while back I was sculpting a mushroom branch, and that thing broke apart in my hands in the greenware stage. But I saved the mushrooms and teamed them up with these toads instead. Lets seeee how they turn out.
PS, I have an email list - you can join that to be notified of my shop updates, and see previews. 🌿

Throwback to the petromoose! Carved moose mugs inspired by petroglyphs. Soon the moose will be migrating again in search of summer pastures. 🌿 And I can’t wait to watch the livestream again, search for ”The great moose migration” or ”Den stora älgvandringen” if you wanna find out more!

🌱🥚 EasterEgg Auction! 🥚🌱
Hejsan everyone! I have finally managed to set up a new feature in my store: auctions! I'm excited to try this out and first up is this ceramic egg. It's live now!
GO TO AUCTION
This egg was a bit late to the party, it didn't fit in the first firing, but now it's all done and looking for a new home.
The auction is in my same ol' shop at nymla.se and it will end on Thursday (6PM Swedish time)!
If this works well, I will be hosting auctions every now and then. My regular shop updates will also continue as usual, they will not be replaced by auctions.
Since this is the first time I'm hosting an auction, I will ask for your understanding if you see or experience any bugs or errors. And if you do, or have other questions or feedback, please let me know!
Thank you all so much! :} Nymla
