YEAH. LIKE HOW DID HE MANAGE TO DO THAT. Surely the implication is that he was always a robot, but then I'm like ooo who made him?? He's got a lot of personality and expressiveness for some robot made strictly to be functional.

Re: Reprogramming the staff. Man I'm a Skeleton King enjoyer (well more like he unwittingly keeps me captive), and there's a lot of creepy stuff in this series, but I will say to no end that Gyrus freaks me out SO so bad.

That's kind of what I was thinking, because like Al is so humanoid but distinctly Not a normal human. I'd be willing to believe that there's a humanoid type that happens to have similar features and more pale skin, whatever that may have benefitted them on another planet or biome to generate that phenotype.
