i do wonder like. had a black writer written it how would it go. what would be different etc. we are still lacking that perspective. cause we have still not had a dw episode written by a black writer who did not have a white cowriter.
1. dont step on a butterfly itll change your personal history
2. dont step on a land mine you'll explode
3. dont step on a circle of string youll disappear/have to live out an alternate version of your life where you are constantly followed by a scary woman and everyone you love abandons you
One thing about "Dot and Bubble" that's easily missed that I want to bring up is that the Finetime people are aliens. Human aliens, specifically – which is something they have in common with the Doctor even if they'd hate to admit it.
This is indicated solely by their quite literally blue blood, most obviously seen in a bloodstain left on the ground by someone being eaten by a man-trap whom Lindy is directed to walk around while on her way to "work" early in the episode.
You can't just give me a bunch of elite sheltered assholes in a domed, transduction shielded city associated with a destroyed 'homeworld' and not expect me to make connections.
(also sorry Rodan, you don't deserve to be giffed next to Lindy in any respect, let alone twice over)
“lindy was sooo evil” “justice for gothic paul and ricky” they were all friends they were all rich white kids living in rich white kids only land happily and willingly…. don’t be tricked into sympathizing with any of them just bc they were nice or smart and don’t pick just one to villainize while excusing the rest pleeeaassee
All this fanfare over Ricky Septemer as being the "hero" vs the immediate hatred for Lindey Pepper-Bean is giving very strong "I saw her at the devil's sacrament!" vibes, as if Ricky September wasn't ALSO at the devil's sacrament
Can they put Ncuti Gatwa in some elaborate Gallifreyan robes please? I would like to see it. Gallifreyan robes with all the drip. I don't even care if it makes sense in the context of the show. I would like to see it.
