I am very not normal about your Adamandi art, what brushes and programs do you use to draw? Hits the skrunkly autism part of my brain.

i'm going to take this as an excuse to Ramble beneath the cut

most of the adamandi stuff started out as sketches i was messing around with in between the madness of school coursework season! so like. <insert pen/ mechanical pencil on paper>

there's nothing quite like discovering dark academia during what was essentially our last year of high school finals season: practically all of the fanart, serious and unserious, began as barebones sketches and text, before the obsession took over and i somehow (???) managed to render the idea across.

see below for the ghostwriter one- the original sketch- as it went the ideas got cut, but if the original sketch was legible enough i'd use it as a base for the digital painting + outline.

i've also added in-progress pics of the litanyofthemartyrs one: this one might have been the most ambitious? to answer your original question, my comfort mode is photoshop, default brushes,,, it varies a lot depending on the vibes of the work. <litany of the martyrs> was done first with the hard tapered brush in photoshop, 100% opacity, then i went over with lower opacities / softer brushes in photoshop as i added details, so it looked less harsh.

for quincy, though, since i struggled so much, this file got shifted back and forth through fingerpainting in autodesk sketchbook on my phone (colour builder brush, varying opacity), and photoshop on my laptop with the wacom! painting on my phone is usually harder for me to adapt to, but allows me a much greater freedom and easier blending. so....

the brushes do alternate on vibes- vincent here was the hard tapered brush at almost consistent 100% opacity; while this ambrose had a low opacity hard round brush throughout!

and, well. sometimes i just redraw the sketch nicer, take a photo and call it a day.

#adamandi #vincent aurelius lin #into the melliotverse #hi there. apparently six-hour transport delays mean i finally finish wips #not going to analyse everything because this is one of those pieces where it's up to. interpretation somewhat- but here's a few things #1. oranges #2. blood stains (miscellany)#3. clinical sterile labs #4. glinting scalpel #5. the covered up 'by B-' in the prize section header #6. the chemical (maybe formaldehyde) stain above in a jar-bottom shape #7. the nominee number 25 and how the spatter of blood covers the 5 to become nominee 2 #8. warm lighting vs cool lighting #9. oranges and de-skinning #10. bloodstain shadows growing with the peeling process #11. the first part of the interview text being from the pyre scene + 'away' in the shadows #12. the rest of the interview stems from the Actual interview scene.#13. what happens in the shadows vs what can be viewed in the light.#// *laughs* if there's anything i tend to do with vincent it's put him in a greenish lighting scene...

#newest broken telephone installment #the remy renaissance #or rather standard avvycc dms. broken telephone elements include ccsims designs of my old designs plus prev hp art plus the general sepia #of everything on fire. bonus to the chromatic aberration on hp it feels quite fitting (yknow bc the chorus behind his lines..) idk vibes #this colouring style is actl terribly fun i'm quite !!! about it. i'm also glad that I made reference sheets for them all long ago bc #otherwise i would have gone insane rrying to rmb them from scratch. lately despite the rainbow hp seems to overall be turquoise blue? which #is so fun compared to the more purple/ neutral blues and greys i have in mind for mark...#anyways doing well! getting back slowly into Making things again! having fun etc etc #have been in OC-land lately but nothing i'm ready to share yet haha #so occassional bit of fanart it is. i inexplicably want to draw hands now though i was walking back home #pondering my adamandi era (mad the most insane fanart i've ever made; no recollection of it now) and after enough mulling it over #it would be nice to return to it. don't think i'm as obsessed anymore but it's certainly not lacking in inspiration #ideas are there just havent reached the sweet spot where you get so taken by an idea you're compelled to turn it to reality #and i think itwould be fun. perhaps even gratifying to set wips to rest #so maybe. in the meantime px11 brokentelephone is sustaining my urge to make miscellaneous fanart haha #melliotverse so true. wonder why despite watching taopp i haven't been compelled to draw it but i get the inkling it's just that specific #aesthetic that doesn't do it for me. <blinks> it was very good and i enjoyed it immensely! i think i just surprised myself by being normal #about a musical for once. i think also bc irl i've been more Good Busy the drive to engage in fandom has dissipated somewhat..#so overall i think it's a good thing. just different. but then again this stretch of time is a transitory period for me so changing ought to #to be expected. ah well tldr don't overthink just do what sparks joy be happy? literally so lucky to be spoiled for choice wrt things #i want to do. so much to do and see and learn and time still to get to figure it all out!

#the bright warm colours of the fire and quincy skin and the greys are incredibly banger #op this is so insane... the graphic effects are so!!! the pixelly hand vs the smaller squares in the fire are so fun #it's so glowy. so warm. also the saints(?) appearing as disembodied hands.. and the whole fire bg reminds me of the saint costumes and!!!#idk this is just. very immensely cool to me. also the bandaged hand and presumably vincent.. augh #god. hands my beloved. im so. sdfghkjlk about this one. the panelling shapes... the text...#hands hands hands!!!!!!#<gestures vaguely> i just think it's neat....
