Take your inspiration from nature, with a focus on invertebrate inspirations. Get an old out of date second hand invertebrate biology text book with illustrations and work through it.a

When you said that the giants had an intelligence somewhere between humans and parrots, did that mean that they share some intelligence traits with parrots and others with humans, or literally the average of the two IQs. Sorry if this question is a bit technical, but I've been researching a bit into animal intelligence, and it seems like it's multifactorial, as opposed to linear.

They are very very smart, they are emotionally complex and they can be communicated with in abstract ways. But they wont be building space shuttles.

Yes it does happen.

I've noticed in a lot of your creature designs, you like to incorporate weird mouth bits, particularly ones with four jaws (like with the Birrin, or some beasties from Below Zero). Was there a particular inspiration for this? Could you tell us about it?

I find it aesthetically pleasing and elegant. I think it links back to inspirations in my early life from Dune sandworms and the Graboids from Tremors.

What aspects of human culture would birrin actually enjoy more than their own society? Food? Entertainment? Sports? Or something else entirely?

I dont know enough about biochemistry to say for sure.

Will there be an expression/emotion chart of how Birrin emote?

I expect so!

How do you feel about fantasy or sci fi settings that assign one trait to all members of a race? (ex: all Orcs are violent)

Its fine, if that is the goal of the artwork, though its possible if not used sensitively it could feed into concepts of human prejudice. I prefer not to use it myself.

I have not chosen a star for the birrin world, but it must be relatively close to Sol.

Are there any health repercussions to eating other Birrin like humans when we eat each other?

There were transferrable diseases, which can be solved by curing the meat correctly.

Do individual Birrin like to travel across the planet?

There are absolutely adventurer birrin.
